¡Últimos días!  Roman Signer Acht Stühle (Ocho sillas)

Hasta el 29/01/2012  La Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros (SAPS) inauguraró el 26 de Octubre a las 7 pm la primera exposición individual en América Latina del artista suizo Roman Signer: Acht Stühle (Ocho sillas). Estamuestra explora el discurso de una de las figuras cuya incidencia internacional ha impactado las prácticas artísticas contemporáneas. Signer plantea un desafío a la concepción moderna del arte y más puntualmente, al trabajo del artista David Alfaro Siqueiros y al muralismo mexicano. Las esculturas de acción de Signer, sus experimentos sobre la deconstrucción del proceso pictórico y el manejo de la documentación artística son los ejes que definen su estructura laboral ante la SAPS. La muestra incluye algunas de las piezas más representativas de su trabajo, instalaciones in situ y una nueva comisión titulada Acht Stühle (8 Sillas). Until 29/01/12 La Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros present the first solo exhibition of the Swiss artist Roman Signer in Latin America, Signer: Acht Stühle (Eight Chairs). The show explores the discourse of an international figure whose impact has affected contemporary art practices. His work poses a challenge to the modern conception of art -specifically to the work of the Mexican muralist David Alfaro Siquieros. At the SAPS, the foundations of Signer’s working structure are defined by his novel concept of action sculpture, his experiments on the deconstruction of the pictorial process, and his approach towards artistic documentation. The exhibition includes some of his most representative pieces, site-specific installations and a new commission entitled Stühle Acht (8 Chairs). In his action sculptures, Signer re-defines the sculptural object through the potential of an accident, chance, scientific research, and the possibility of restraint.
